OpenAlex
How to get your OpenAlex API key and connect it to Nova Admin.
No API key required. OpenAlex is free and open. Providing a contact email opts you into the faster, more reliable "polite pool" (sent as the mailto parameter) — recommended.
Prerequisites
- A OpenAlex account. Sign up at https://docs.openalex.org/.
- An active Nova Admin workspace. Go to /agents/integrations to connect.
Steps
- Go to OpenAlex API docs (no key needed).
- Create or copy your credentials.
- Note any additional required values: Contact Email (polite pool) (e.g.
you@example.com (recommended)). - In Nova Admin, go to /agents/integrations, find OpenAlex, and paste the values into the credential dialog.

Troubleshooting
- Invalid credentials: verify the key was copied in full with no trailing spaces.
- Key not working: check that your OpenAlex account has API access enabled and billing is active if required.
